FAQs

How do I know if you are the right fit?

Finding a therapist that fits your needs and feels safe is very important to feeling better. This is also important as a therapist since I am not trained in treating every issue someone might experience. This is the reason I offer a no cost consultation phone call so we both have a chance to decide if I am the right fit. If we find I am not the right fit,  I am happy to share the names of providers I trust who can offer more expertise than I am able or may be more of what you are looking for.

What If my issue is not one of your specialities?

I have specialized training that allows me the privilege of supporting people coping with issues in those areas. If something comes up that is outside of the scope or my expertise, I will make recommendations to connect with other professionals or other therapists so you are getting the best support you can.

do you accept insurance?

I am private pay and my pricing is outlined on the INVESTMENT page, listed above. If you have questions about my fees, please feel free to ask. I do not submit claims to insurance nor do I have contracts with any insurance panels. You are responsible for the costs of services at the time of service. If you would like to seek reimbursement through your insurance, I do offer a Superbill. This is a document which contains the information necessary to submit to insurance so they can determine if you are eligible for reimbursement.

do you accept Medicare?

I am not a Medicare enrolled provider. This means I am not Medicare paneled and have “opted out.” I have a specific release for individuals who choose to develop a therapeutic relationship with me and choose not to use their Medicare benefits.

Who do you treat?

Adolescents 16 years and older. The people I treat are typical people like you and me. Life happens, stress happens, family and relationships get complicated and as a result, there are a lot of mixed feelings. Therapy is a great place to begin sorting through those experiences and feelings.

Do I have to come in person?

I offer both telehealth and in person appointments and am able to be flexible to meet your needs. Telehealth links are offered through the client portal.

What if I have to cancel or miss an appointment?

I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel, please contact me as soon as you are able to. If you are able to reschedule within the same week, there is no charge. Cancellations or missed appointments are charged at the session rate. Please contact me if you miss an appointment or something prevents you from contacting me within 24 hours of your appointment.

Are you able to prescribe medications?

I am not a physician or licensed prescriber and am unable to prescribe medications. I do have several medication providers I refer to, in the event you consider medications to compliment your therapy or if you are already taking medications and need someone else to prescribe.
